malaysians the nerds out in houston texas. oh good you need to turn on your t.v. because the there's this there's a delay and it'll be confusing and there are just better yeah yeah you just just talk to me on the telephone and then after we're done you can turn t.v. back up so what's a science fiction. ok my concern is this i'm a registered nurse and you see and. so we all see that now i hear you just fine if you're hearing anything coming back just ignore it and talk. and my thing is health care reform. and i'm working in the health care. and my concern is why. anybody don't think everybody's health care. if they gave up their percentage because they have concierge service to the people who really need because there will be people and

they can afford their own health care insurance why they think when you go to the hospital because i see people turned away ok i have my own ah and your i will survive they give up their health care insurance and they're all and then we can have the money available for the wealthy the debate that we've been having in this country for a long long time is what is a right and what is a privilege and the position the position that the right wingers have taken from time immemorial in the united states is that health care is not a right it's a privilege i would submit that when thomas jefferson wrote in the declaration of independence life liberty and pursuit of happiness and that's why we were creating this country you can't have a right to life without health care you can't be alive if you're sick and you can't get well so leticia i'm totally with you and i appreciate your call and making that point i think you made a very very well and and and what we need to do is point out i think to more people more often that every other developed country in the world believes of the thirty

four we see the countries the organization of economic cooperation developing the most developed countries every other country in the world believes at that health care is a right not a privilege we're the only one that doesn't say it's a right and that was ted kennedy's big thing it should be a right norman grass valley california a norm you're on the air don't come our today i'm great but i'll get better. i'm doing fine so what does one. statement than a question has to do about the debate from last night i knew there would be lies in the village men and more lies deception and numbers that they couldn't quote right off the top of the right so i watched the debate on a spanish station i found that morning or training and. that's interesting so you watch the debate what dubbed in spanish is on the spanish station you speak spanish i didn't realize i found it more enjoyable sanish no i don't. feel funny

because what i really should i knew was going to be a lie i get a little. out of it nor my perspective and. frankly if i had watched the thing with the sound off it would have made me even crazier because one of the big concerns i have is that whoever was prepping and coaching president obama really blew it i mean they did not get the importance the consequence of body language they really i mean his eye he looked down and he was looking down and writing and there romney was boring into him constantly you know with his eyes and it's it hurt him i think it really seriously hurt him nathan in los angeles nathan. page i think you're thinking michael. i really think that obama just needs to be more direct he's incredibly eloquent he's amazing orator but i think i think he did contradict and descend you know everything that mitt romney

came out with you know came out of with last night but he did it so eloquently that i think most people missed it i think he just needs to respond directly with what the governor said is just not true here is the fact. i think it will hit home so much more you know you need that impact so you wanted more taking names and kickin but kind of stuff. and you know it's not so much you know if you start but i think he can still do that but but here's here's the thing the age it's. the oratory and dial up directly you have made it imperative but nathan right you need him to do yeah he did he did i go. back to nathan i think it's going to come back and bite him in the but i think it's going to hurt romney and appreciate your perspective and i and i understand what you're saying but the president i mean keep in mind there are multiple dynamics here and this was i brought this up on the radio today mitt romney when he when when these guys sat down and focus grouped how mitt romney

was going to call the president a liar and trusting six eight ten twelve people sat in a room and work this out how are we going to at how are we going to call the president a liar so the president can't call romney a liar how do you diffuse that well let's tell a story let's tell a story about romney's sons or that old t.v. show my three sons romney's youngest son is thirty four years old and so they they ordered they they decided literally the words i mean that probably spent a half a day or several hours at the very least what is the sentence what's the zinger going to be the calls the president a liar. ok let's use the president's sons as an example everybody knows kids sometimes lie and but they're thirty four years old let's not call them sons let's call them boys. so you've got white guy mitt romney. is saying he said to the first african-american president of states he said my boy yes. and so there's this there's this whole other level of dynamic that's really

important to get when president obama went on c.b.s. news this was. two three months ago and used the word damn he simply used the word damn or that there was an interview and he said you know i'm. a damn something i don't remember the exact phrase but. the headline on drugs the next day was obama goes street giant letters everybody was all freaked out about what it was and all these and the and this is and in today you had sununu coming out calling him lazy last night it was new talking about rhythm and the day before yesterday it was sean hannity going on it is terrible oh my god he can talk with a black accent you know you know what he never knew you know there's blood in the white house so he's navigating some very very very dangerous waters there read in and say east st louis illinois he read what's what's on your mind actually

he should not have taken it he should have come out with the fist up in the air punching that man for every lie that he told he lied so much that i've just started to go is this the debate or it is just mitt romney's day and also after a while it turned into mitt versus mitt yeah you know and it's like president obama all he had to do was call up the lies he could just use the forty seven percent for thirty eight minutes and that would take care of that and i hope that in the next debate he comes out swinging you know he's got to be that he can't be the calm manner person we don't need that mitt romney isn't going to do is tell him the truth mary jo from your lips to god's ears and hopefully the president will appreciate what you have to say and get it and say oh yeah ok that's it but we'll see i mean his advisors my question the thing in my mind it concerns me that wakes me up in the night is if president obama did what he did last night i thought ok

we're going to play this soft because visors told him to and he lived in a bubble and he doesn't you know he doesn't watch cable news he doesn't know you know how how hot everything is going on will he still be in the bubble will the next debate be the same i don't think so we'll see ronnie in philly we have a minute to the break ronnie what's welcome to the program was under my thank you. it's why i don't think regular thanks to sweep under the rico laws because the the rico laws are the organized the organized crime laws they were the racketeering influence and corrupt organizations i believe is what i know of a good warning against proposition right but the problem it with the rico laws is they were so specifically crafted for the mafia back in the in the sixty's that you can't use them for a lot of things that frankly i think they should be used for i think they should be used against the banks toure's i think they should be used as the military industrial complex i think that there's a you know there's a whole variety of folks that the rico laws should be able to be used against but what we have to do is we have to pass

it's thursday time to get geeky on planet earth and everywhere with the earth sounds like. that was the sound of planet earth singing in space courtesy of nasa is calling it

the clearest recording ever made of what they call chorus which is the audio version of the radio signals that are emitted by plasma waves that are part of the earth's van allen radiation belts the van allen radiation belt seen here are two layers of energetically charged particles or plasma that are around the earth and that are held in place by the planet's magnetic field the belts are thought to be made of a variety of particles some particles that come from the solar wind and others from cosmic rays according to craig quite seeing a physics professor who is part of the team at nasa the collective the sounds the mysterious sound is quote what the radiation belts would sound like to a human being if we had radio antennas for years and quote to capture the chorus sound cloud sing and a team of nasa engineers design something called the electric and magnetic field instrument suite and integrated science for the type of signal receiver that's attached to two separate nasa probes that are currently orbiting the earth after

it's the good the bad and the very very broke varos stratus lee ugly the good carleton college in college a small college in minnesota passed a campus wide resolution earlier this week opposing minnesota's proposed constitutional amendment that bans same sex marriage or opposing the resolution states that the amendment would quote undermine and impede the college's efforts to recruit and retain the very best students faculty and staff members and. our nation's colleges and universities should be places of respect and safety for all students regardless of their sexual orientation members of the community are just as hardworking just as intelligent and just as driven as anyone else kudos to karl for standing up to the bigotry and ignorance that is trying to take over the state of minnesota. the bad the anti immigrant group which wants to limit if not stop

illegal immigration we're not talking illegal and legal immigration released a new ad yesterday that employs an interesting and all too common tactic of. i'm tired of the stereotype of black americans don't want to work i worked hard my whole life but i got laid off and i've got to feel. needed. what i don't understand is why our leaders are going to admit of a million immigrant workers next year to take jobs when three million black americans can't find work. i mean do our leaders really believe the black americans don't want to work. let's slow down mass immigration and save jobs for americans all americans paid for by numbers us laid out or so in order to further their goal of the wiping out immigration in the united states numbers usa has decided to pit the african-american community against illegal immigrants in our country. and the very very ugly judge charles c.

law if you want more proof that corporate corruption and greed have taken over our judicial system take a look at judge level level appointed at the federal bench in montana by ronald reagan issued a sweeping decision earlier today striking down montana's law that limits political campaign contributions and as if the decision isn't bad enough level issued it without providing any explanation of his reasoning instead level said he would issue his reasoning in due course because he wanted the order to be issued before the upcoming election in the judicial world is nearly unheard of for a judge to issue a ruling without giving an explanation that doesn't say that levels bench has been bought off by corporate interests i don't know what does and that is very very.

watching last night's debate i kept thinking to myself i've seen this debate before you know the first time romney and obama ever actually debated each other in fact i think it's one of the few times that both men of even appear on stage together but i just knew that i'd seen this debate before. and then you know being an old geezer it struck me last night's debate was one nine hundred eighty all over again i remember that it was reagan versus carter i've said many times that the only way that mitt romney can win the election is to lie well the same was true of ronald reagan as a center for american progress pointed out this morning mitt romney told twenty seven lies and half truths in the course of just the thirty eight minutes that he spoke during the debate last night this is really a staggering feat if you think about it but one that was easily pulled off because

the moderator wasn't calling out any of the lies and frankly and tragically neither was president obama or romney also pulled it off by using the ronald reagan strategy of saying what ever it takes to win just so long as you say it since the early and with the smile take a look at how ronald reagan wide his way through the one nine hundred eighty debate first talking about a meeting he had with young african-americans about the minimum wage. and the president spoke a moment ago about but i was against the minimum wage. i wish he could have been with me when i sat with a group of teenagers who were black and who were telling me about their unemployment problems and that it was the minimum wage that had done away with the jobs that they once could get. that's a lie it was later debunked ronald reagan never sat with a group of african-american teenagers who talked about the minimum wage hurting them and it in fact people tried to track down those people just like they tried to

track down his famous welfare queen couldn't find it but he said it sincerely just like he talked sincerely when he took credit for creating workplace see the legislation as governor of california. we created an ocean an occupational safety and health agency for the protection of employees before the federal government had one in place and to this day not one of his decisions or rulings has ever been challenged so i think some of those charges are missing the point i suggest not true again osha was passed by democrats in california over ronald reagan's objections but rumor talk sincerely and people will believe it actually large parts of what was ocean california was set up long before ronald reagan it which any out sets up this claim made by reagan against the department of energy catch this. the department of energy is a multi-billion dollar budget in action of ten billion dollars it isn't produced a quart of oil or a lump of coal or anything else in the line of energy use that's

a straw man no one ever said that the department of energy creates energy it's absurd and reagan knows it the department of energy builds nuclear bombs they renamed it back in the day you know so that people wouldn't get upset about the budget or something the bomb making agency didn't sound so good but it doesn't refine oil. reagan knew it was a great talking point and he knew that he had to be willing to say what ever it takes to win as long as he says it's uncertain. and so mitt romney did the same thing he lied about his own tax plan a lot about the president's medicare reforms he lied about his on medicare plans he lied about wall street reform he lied about the president's green energy investments he lied about death panels he lied about small businesses he lied about the deficit he lied about the national federation of independent businesses he lied about cuts to the military but you know what he talks and surly just like reagan and that's why today he's been declared the winner of the debate in the mainstream media instead of being declared the loser by virtue of lives but the similarities

don't end there romney is running to govern just like reagan did. and i think it has been evident in most of the answers that mr carter's given tonight that he seeks the solution to anything as another opportunity for a federal government program and what we're seeing right now is in my view a a trickle down government approach which has government thinking it can do a better job than free people pursuing their dreams and it's not working i am suggesting that there are literally thousands of unnecessary regulations but invade every facet of business and indeed very much of our personal lives that are unnecessary what's happened with some of the legislation that's been passed during the president's term you've seen regulation become excessive and it's hurt the it's hurt the economy free enterprise can do a better job of producing the things that people need than government can free

people and free enterprises trying to find ways to do things better are able to be more effective in bringing down the cost of the government will ever be the call that the president mentioned years we haven't yet won eight of our total resources is not being utilized at all right now the mines are closed down there are twenty two thousand miners out of work most of this is due to regulations which either interfere with the mining of it or prevent the burning of it i like coal i'm going to make sure we can get to burn clean coal people in the coal industry feel like it's getting crushed by your policies. i hope the president's people saw what i saw in the debate last out jimmy carter's faith is haunting them today because of the next few debates go the way this first one was and president obama could be the next jimmy carter a one term president taken down by a serial liar funded by billionaires and mitt romney will move into the white house to finish what reagan started which is completely deconstructing killing off
